Friday media round-up: 4/11

Here’s what the Heave staff has been into this week:

Matt Brassil

Everyone brought down HBOGO with Game of Thrones, but Veep needs your viewership just as much. Julia Louis-Dreyfuss’ third Emmy winning role is her best yet. The Emmy-winning Tony Hale brings another amazing character to life. Not flowery and dramatic like The West Wing or Shakespearean like House of Cards, Veep might just be politics’ most realistic TV portrayal.

Frank Macarthy

The Faint are back and just as great as ever. Get excited. That is all.

Meghan Bongartz

I came across Memos from Fury a while ago, and remembered that it exists this week. It’s not the longest blog in the world, but it’ll definitely kill a decent chunk of time in an entertaining way.

Dominick Suzanne-Mayer

It’s finally warm in Chicago. That means so much Japandroids and Bouncing Souls until the fall comes.
