Cut Copy is starting to give some gritty little details about their very much anticipated third album entitled Zonoscope. Zonoscope is the clarity front man Dan Whitford came to find when he locked himself in his home after the whirlwind of craziness the band has went through since becoming, well, international senstations. Whitford said, “All the way along we had this weird vision of a tropical, jungle, tribal sound. A place or an idea that we wanted to reach with some of the songwriting; to explore a looping hypnotic trance and revise the whole palette of what Cut Copy was about.”
Zonoscope was recorded over six months in Melbourne and was mixed by Ben H Allen (Animal Collective, Gnarls Barkley). Zonoscope comes out February 8 in North America.
