New Music From La Femme

California (and sometimes Brooklyn) boys always have a tight grip on the surfer rock genre.  But it seems our neighbors across the sea are ready to take their own turn playing some bopping beats.  There is little known about Parisians Le Femme but their music speaks for itself.  Thumping bass, gritty drums, and a hushed vocalist rushing through the musical mix Le Femme has made a perfect marriage between lo-fi pop and surfer rock.  Obvious Godard references aside, Le Femme takes their French roots and throws them against ocean vibes, with the outcome taking form of their new EP for stateside listeners.

The band’s debut EP Le Podium#1 blends together the mystery that is Le Femme into a series of well-thought out songs.  From the bouncy “Sur La Panche” to the whammy-love of “Telegraphe,” Le Femme’s debut promises to be something to brighten the chilly months ahead. Le Podium#1 comes out December 13 on Third Side Records.  Download “Sur La Panche” here or stream the single below.
