Here’s what the Heave staff has been into this week:

Think martial arts action couldn’t get any better than The Raid: Redemption? The last 40 minutes of The Raid 2 are out to prove you wrong. It’s just jaw-dropping choreography that will have people leaving the theaters a little baffled about the spectacle they just saw. And that’s an absolutely great thing.

Young Justice just got uploaded to Netflix this past week. It’s written by Greg Wiseman, who was behind such animated series as Gargoyles. It’s not quite Teen Titans, but not quite Justice League. Young Justice sits somewhere in the middle of being kids and adults. The angst can be a bit much, especially Superman’s clone, Superboy, but the characterization is otherwise strong. Aqualad has been reinvented into an extremely badass character. First 26 episodes are now available.

I’m so late to the party on this, but I just finished up the first season of Rick & Morty and Dan Harmon remains at the absolute top of his game tinkering with our conventions about pop culture and our perceptions about what a sitcom should be. Now I only wish I didn’t have to wait so long for season 2…

I know I’m behind the rest of the world on this, but oh my god, the second season of House of Cards. Oh. My. God.

I have a habit of not listening to albums I really like for a while, only to later circle back and realize that they were indeed awesome. Such is the case with Against Me!’s Transgender Dysphoria Blues, one of 2014’s best records so far and one of the band’s most accomplished to date.
