I felt absolutely nothing the first 45 seconds of "Hard Believer" by Swedish imports First Aid Kit. And then, like being smacked in the face by the wings of an angel, I succumbed to a case of the goosebumps.
Made up of teenage sisters, Johanna and Klara Soderberg, First Aid Kit have a sound that soars way beyond their years. "Hard Believer" showcases a family duo whose harmonies could easily stand shoulder to shoulder with greats like Heart and the Beach Boys. Debut album, The Big Black And Blue, teeters between the country cabaret of K.D. Lang and the haunting mountain folk of Fleet Foxes.
Look for The Big Black And Blue January 25, via Wichita Records.
