After constantly being on the road promoting his first album Attention: Deficit, Wale has finally released his much-promised mixtape Back to the Feature. It’s 22 tracks deep, has far too many artists to name and clocks in at a normal full length (so burn it for your car).
Back to the Feature is presented by Santa Ana based street wear clothing company Lifted Research Group (LRG), mixed by Nick Catchdubs and produced by 9th Wonder. Mark Ronson and Cool & Dre lend their producing skills for the mixtape as well. Overall this tape is well put together, and most definitely a much-needed chill tape for the summertime – a perfect lead into Wale’s promised LP that he began touring for back in April.
You can also read Wale’s blog for Hypebeast, find him wrapping up his Attention Deficit tour, listen to his Ey Wale EP or the radio single “Chillin’” and watch video to match with the uber popular Lady Gaga. All a subtle attempt to assault the airwaves, which is working quite well.
Download the masterful mixtape Back to the Feature on Wale’s website, and chill in preparation for the full length due out late summer or early fall. Also if you missed the music video for “Chillin’” you can watch that as well here. “Yeah, DC chillin’, PG chillin’, my name Wale and I came to get it.” And get it you must…
