Someone Still Loves You Boris YeltsinSomeone Still Loves You Boris Yeltsin

Someone still loves Boris Yeltsin, and that band is aptly named Someone Still Loves You Boris Yeltsin. I don't think I really ever fully appreciated their love for a more than likely slandered individual that I know very little about, I must say, I completely blew it. I didn't even ask Someone Still Loves You Boris Yeltsin why they love Boris Yeltsin, or who the guy even is and what he stands for. I have a bad habit of not following normal procedures, so I tend to accidentally avoid typical interview questions like, “What are your influences?” and, “So where does the band name come from?”, but it’s on purpose. British Sea PowerBritish Sea Power

On their latest album, Brighton based British Sea Power ask the listener, Do You Like Rock Music? Maybe a question poised to the fans, or maybe a slight at the various genres and sub-genres popping up at an hourly rate in the world of indie rock. Who knows? The sound of Do You Like Rock Music? could best be described as classic English countryside poetry insinuated with psychotropics, chiming but disturbed guitars and stadium ready anthems comfortable in the smallest of club settings. BSP have created a start to finish masterwork that in some ways trumps previous efforts. HEAVE recently spoke with lead guitarist Martin Noble about touring, recording and all things BSP. More...

Grand ArchivesGrand Archives

You’d probably think someone was crazy to leave a band as successful (in the indie world) as Band Of Horses, but you can’t fault a guy for having a vision. Mat Brooke left the ever so serious BOH to fulfill his own, happier vision – Grand Archives. Their self-titled debut has already garnered critical success – and the future looks bright for the indie-pop outlet. More...

The Polish AmbassadorNo one could accuse David Sugalski of being dull. Known as The Polish Ambassador, the “half diplomat, half groove generator, all asexual cyborg” delivers beats and hooks that the planet Earth is unable to comprehend or replicate. Claiming outer space as his home, the Ambassador took time out of his good doing and baby kissing ways to yak it up with HEAVE.

HEAVE: Why did you choose to be The Polish Ambassador? Why not say, The Irish Ambassador? More...

Foxy ShazamFoxy Shazam

Hanging from ceilings, the consumption of burning cigarettes and chaotic musical rampages are just a taste of things to come from Cincinnati’s hardcore troupe, Foxy Shazam. The self-proclaimed “Evel Kinevel of Rock N’ Roll,” Foxy Shazam, has kicked off the New Year big with the release of their new album Introducing, and a nationwide tour. HEAVE got the chance to have a chat with Joseph and converse things past, and things to come.

HEAVE: How long have you been playing music? More...

Headlights

For their second album, Some Racing, Some Stopping, Headlights decided to take a break from their constant touring, and head home to the peace and quiet of Champaign, Illinois to record. What resulted from those farmhouse sessions is a dreamy follow- up that you've probably been humming along to since its release. For the quintet, though, a tour bus can be as homey a farmhouse - a few dates into their latest tour with The Evangelicals, HEAVE had a chance to catch up with this local trio – more specifically, Tristan Wraight.
