“Little Drummer Boy” is my favorite Christmas song. When I was little I liked the drums and the “Pa Rum Pa Pa Pum” part of the song. I’m older now, and still like both of those parts. The original is a pleasant song about a boy bringing the gift of playing his drum to Jesus on Christmas Day. This cover by Finnish cello Metallists Apocalyptica is, well, a little darker.

The beginning starts off nice and calm enough, but then it sounds like the drummer replaces his drum with a sword and is about to fight everything in his way. Really, this version makes me want to go swordfight in the name of Christmas. Have a listen below.
